In Hilden, there are support services for socially disadvantaged and individually impaired young people at various schools. Here, prevention work, crisis intervention and help with the transition from school to work form the cornerstones of the tasks. This results in many different goals that go far beyond classic problem solving and support in crisis situations, also depending on the location and the conditions there.

At the Bettine-von-Arnim-Gesamtschule, students, teachers and parents have access to a wide range of counseling services, where they can discuss their learning situation, school career, as well as personal and family issues with trained specialists.
Class administrators, counseling teachers and the school social work staff are available as contact persons. The school social work is an in-school counseling center that works out appropriate solutions with all parties involved.
The manifold contacts to out-of-school counseling centers and institutions of youth welfare allow for quick help when needed.
