The Kunstraum is located in the Gewerbepark-Süd, a traditional Hilden industrial park at Hofstraße 64, where the Cultural Office shows four large exhibitions a year with works by mostly internationally renowned artists. There have already been exhibitions of great masters such as Mack, Immendorff, Rizzi, Alt, Uecker, Naegeli and many others, as well as shows of works by artist groups and artist associations. Solo exhibitions of renowned local artists round off the exhibition program, which is compiled annually by the Hilden Cultural Office.
In the centrally located rooms on the first floor of the Bürgerhaus, Mittelstraße 40 in Hilden, the Municipal Gallery was opened in the early 1990s. The exhibition program is conceived by the cultural office. Eight times a year, temporary exhibitions of local, national and international artists take place on an area of around 60 m². For example, with artists from the twin town of Nové Město / Czech Republic, with which a regular cultural exchange is maintained. Annual exhibitions of Hilden artists as well as solo or group exhibitions of professionally working creative artists are an integral part of the exhibition program of the Municipal Gallery, which has long been firmly anchored in Hilden's public life.
Our museum captivates with its endearing charm and opens up fascinating insights into the topics of art and medicine with unusual temporary exhibitions. It is named after the most famous person from Hilden, Wilhelm Fabry. He was the greatest German wound physician of the early modern period and is considered the founder of scientific surgery.
Our grain distillery is an impressive industrial history monument and documents how grain and other spirits were produced in the past. We cordially invite you to visit our varied exhibitions and the Vogelsang distillery, with its steam engine installed in 1887.
