ID card with online function

The ID card with online function offers citizens the opportunity to identify themselves easily and securely online. Thanks to this function, an ever-increasing number of administrative procedures can be carried out digitally and independently of opening hours.

To use the ID card with online function, you only need the ID card and the PIN letter, which you receive by post after applying for the ID card. If the PIN letter can no longer be found or the PIN has been forgotten or blocked, it can be reset at any citizens' office in Germany.
