Networks

The Youth Parliament is active in various working groups at different levels. The aim is to network the participation of children and young people and to develop it further, especially at district and state level.

Members of the Hilden Youth Parliament are also active in overarching committees and participate in discussions at various events.

• Once a year, the state meeting of the children's and youth parliaments of NRW takes place in Herne. Many youth parliaments take part here. Workshops are held for young people, discussions are held with people from state politics and ideas are exchanged.
• The Youth Parliament is represented in the NRW Children and Youth Council. Here, offers and ideas are networked and youth interests are represented at the state level. For this purpose, there are contacts in the state parliament, but also with the state student representation and the state representation of the youth associations.
• The Mettmann District Youth Council has been in existence since 2021. It is one of the first youth policy bodies at district level in North Rhine-Westphalia and pursues the goal of giving the younger generation a non-partisan voice and advancing their interests politically. The Hilden Youth Parliament is also represented here and has a say at the district level.
